About the role#
This summer internship provides hands-on experience within our Public Finance department. You will work alongside traders and bankers to gain insight into the financial services industry. The program runs from May 24, 2027, to July 30, 2027. This is a full-time, on-site position based in New York.
What you'll do#
- Work directly with traders and public finance bankers to support daily operations.
- Perform financial data analysis and review client memos.
- Assist in the development of presentation materials and proposals for new and existing clients.
- Deliver presentations to public finance leadership.
- Shadow full-time employees during client interactions.
- Receive training on municipal finance and trading desk products, such as corporate bonds, treasuries, and agencies.
- Assist the disclosure department and handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Current status as a rising senior pursuing a degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Economics is preferred.
- Strong interest in public finance investment banking.
- Proficiency with computer hardware, Windows or Mac operating systems, and software including MS Office and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to initiate tasks and follow them through to completion.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
- Authorization to work for any employer in the US without requiring sponsorship.
- 0 to 1 year of experience is preferred but not required.
