    About the role#

    As a Show Control Software Intern with Walt Disney Imagineering, you will work on electronic systems for attractions, shows, and park-wide infrastructure. This is a full-time, paid internship running from January 2027 through June 2027. You will join a team responsible for the technical systems that power guest experiences.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop software for guest interactive systems.
    • Lead software efforts for small projects or join a larger engineering team.
    • Develop and review system requirements, specifications, and architectures.
    • Design software at the module level and produce data flow diagrams.
    • Write code and create software test plans.
    • Participate in system testing and verify performance against requirements.
    • Produce technical and user documentation for system operation and maintenance.
    • Support training for show system operators and maintenance staff.
    • Present project updates to management and coordinate with other engineering groups.
    • Provide input on project scheduling and interface requirements for mechanical and audio systems.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as a Junior or higher in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
    • Proficiency in scientific or real-time programming languages such as C, C++, Visual C, C#, Python, JavaScript, Ruby, or PLC programming.
    • Experience with technologies including .Net, PowerShell, Unity, Unreal, Chef, MatLab, or Windows deployment.
    • Understanding of software engineering principles, control systems, and hardware interfaces like circuits, relays, and serial communication.
    • Problem analysis and resolution skills.
    • A valid driver's license.
    • At least 1 year of relevant work or internship experience is preferred.
    • Experience with human interface devices like touchscreens or real-world sensing is a plus.
    • Familiarity with broadcast engineering or film industry tool development is helpful.

    Location & details#

    • This role is on-site in either Lake Buena Vista, Florida, or Glendale, California.
    • You must provide your own transportation to and from work.
    • You must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
    • This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
