About the role#
This internship places you within the Walt Disney Imagineering studio responsible for designing and developing theme park rides. You will join a multidisciplinary team focused on creating immersive attractions. The role emphasizes learning, providing exposure to experts across various engineering disciplines throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to testing.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to ride system development, prototyping, simulation, or testing for specific projects.
- Perform mechanical analysis of various components and systems.
- Assist in the design of mechanisms and machines.
- Create and manipulate CAD models.
- Coordinate with other Imagineering groups to provide ride system interface information.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a Junior or higher in an accredited Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering program.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Ability to implement basic mechanical system designs and understand their associated control elements.
- Experience building and testing mechanisms, machines, or vehicles.
- Skill in preparing technical documentation and CAD drawings.
- Ability to apply general engineering principles and perform calculations in statics, dynamics, kinematics, strength of materials, and energy.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship located in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
- The program runs from January 2027 to June 2027.
- Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and be at least 18 years of age.
