About the role#
Packaging Corporation of America is hiring for Process Engineering and Process Control Engineering co-ops and interns. This role supports mill operations through technical projects, data analysis, and system maintenance. You will work on-site at one of our mill locations, with this specific opening based in Counce, Tennessee.
What you'll do#
- Support process optimization and engineering projects to improve mill efficiency, safety, and quality.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret production and lab data to support business decisions.
- Conduct routine pulp, paper, and chemical testing.
- Monitor key process sensing equipment and control systems to verify accuracy and reliability.
- Assist with troubleshooting, advanced process control efforts, and system audits.
- Use company software to update drawings, equipment files, and control documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Chemical Engineering, Paper Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics.
- Completion of at least your freshman year by the start of the internship.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Permanent U.S. resident status and a valid driver’s license.
