About the role#
Armstrong World Industries is hiring a Mechanical Engineer Intern for our manufacturing plant in Macon, Georgia. This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2026 term. You will work on-site to gain practical experience with our products, processes, and large-scale manufacturing equipment.
What you'll do#
- Complete an assigned engineering project during your internship.
- Support ongoing capital engineering projects within the plant.
- Assist with the Project Management Life Cycle, including preparing project specifications.
- Oversee installation and project closing activities.
- Gain experience with the primary components of Equipment Reliability.
- Update existing drawings and create new ones using AutoCAD.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical Engineering at an ABET accredited school.
- You must be within 24 months of graduation.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA in both your cumulative and major coursework.
- Previous internship experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
