About the role#
Armstrong World Industries is hiring a Mechanical Engineer Intern for our manufacturing facility in Hilliard, Ohio. This is a full-time, paid position for the Summer 2026 term. You will work on-site to gain practical experience with our products, manufacturing processes, and testing requirements.
What you'll do#
- Complete an assigned engineering project during your internship.
- Contribute to ongoing capital engineering projects within the plant.
- Update existing drawings and create new ones using AutoCAD.
- Develop machine maintenance best practices, including preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Prepare project specifications and requirements.
- Support the project management life cycle, including schedule coordination and installation oversight.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical Engineering at an ABET accredited school.
- You must be within 24 months of graduation.
- A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong time management skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Previous internship experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
