About the role#
This is a rolling student position based in our inspection lab. You will assist with projects across various levels of our programs. This role requires you to work on-site at our Troy, Michigan facility.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate component and assembly drawings to plan inspection procedures.
- Program inspection equipment including CMM, roundness gages, profilometers, and contour readers.
- Perform inspections of components and assemblies according to ISO and ANSI standards.
- Provide first-piece inspection data for prototype machinists and technicians.
- Prepare documentation to record inspection results.
- Maintain inspection equipment and ensure all tools remain in calibration compliance.
- Assist other Magna facilities as needed.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Computer, or Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Ability to read prints with a solid understanding of GD&T per ISO and ANSI standards.
- Strong math skills and effective written and oral communication.
- Working knowledge of computer-based software.
- Ability to work well within a team environment.
