About the role#
This internship provides technical support for the implementation and maintenance of Assistive Technology services at the Walt Disney World Resort. These services include Assistive Listening, Handheld Captioning, Video Captioning, and Audio Description for guests with disabilities. This is a full-time, 6-month commitment from January 2027 through June 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support the operation of Assistive Technology services through technical theory and practical application.
- Maintain and support a fleet of PDA-style handheld devices.
- Investigate and troubleshoot in-park infrastructure.
- Partner with Design and Engineering teams to assist with new installations and repairs.
- Audit Assistive Technology services to ensure content accuracy.
- Assist with special projects, including audits, photo documentation, and the creation of maintenance materials.
- Support in-park tours and demonstrations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Discretion in handling confidential information.
- Comfort operating in an environment that changes frequently.
- A valid U.S. Driver's license.
Location & details#
- Location: Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- Compensation: $31.00 per hour.
- Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age, possess unrestricted work authorization, and be able to provide reliable personal transportation for travel across the property.
