About the role#
ABC News Digital operates 24/7 to cover breaking news, features, and reporting. This internship runs from January 2027 through June 2027. You will join the editorial team to help produce original reporting on daily events.
What you'll do#
- Pitch and write daily general assignment stories for the website.
- Support editorial operations by handling daily tasks.
- Collaborate with newsgathering, video, photo, and social teams.
- Prepare digital stories by templating notes and checking transcripts against tape.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university, or current participation in a Disney program.
- Experience in news writing or reporting through internships, campus media, or coursework.
- Proficiency in writing accurate, organized copy under deadlines.
- Ability to research and develop news story ideas.
- Experience with web publishing, SEO, or content management systems is preferred.
- Strong grasp of AP style writing and editing.
- Unrestricted work authorization and at least 18 years of age.
- A portfolio or reel is required for your application to be considered.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, New York.
- You must be available to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, for the duration of the program.
- You are responsible for your own housing and transportation in the New York area.
