About the role#
The Mechanical Engineering Department at The University of New Mexico is hiring graduate and upper level students to serve as course graders. This is a paid, part-time student employment position based on campus in Albuquerque. The role operates on a rolling basis for the Fall 2025 semester.
What you'll do#
- Grade weekly homework assignments, projects, and quizzes.
- Assist instructors with grading exams.
- Manage and maintain the gradebook for the course.
- Hold weekly office hours to support students.
- Answer student questions about assignments.
- Complete other job-related duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a graduate or upper level student.
- An engineering background.
- A grade of B or better in the specific course you are applying to grade.
- Understanding of the principles and methods used to grade engineering and mathematical problems.
- Strong organizational skills.
- A flexible schedule and a dependable work ethic.
