    About the role#

    The University of New Mexico is hiring a Student Recycling Tech to join the Facility Services team. This is an on-site, full-time role focused on campus sustainability through hands-on materials management.

    What you'll do#

    • Collect recyclable materials from designated campus locations.
    • Operate equipment including forklifts, baling machines, and trucks.
    • Maintain, organize, and clean the materials management facility.
    • Monitor the flow of recyclable materials and make adjustments as needed.
    • Manage, consolidate, and report on hazardous materials.
    • Update handwritten reports and assist visitors at the facility.

    What you'll need#

    • Ability to perform strenuous physical work.
    • Capacity to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to update handwritten reports accurately.
    • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including exposure to dirt and dust.
    • Reliability in attendance and scheduling.
