About the role#
The University of New Mexico is hiring a Student Recycling Tech to join the Facility Services team. This is an on-site, full-time role focused on campus sustainability through hands-on materials management.
What you'll do#
- Collect recyclable materials from designated campus locations.
- Operate equipment including forklifts, baling machines, and trucks.
- Maintain, organize, and clean the materials management facility.
- Monitor the flow of recyclable materials and make adjustments as needed.
- Manage, consolidate, and report on hazardous materials.
- Update handwritten reports and assist visitors at the facility.
What you'll need#
- Ability to perform strenuous physical work.
- Capacity to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to update handwritten reports accurately.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including exposure to dirt and dust.
- Reliability in attendance and scheduling.
