About the role#
Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises is hiring a Student Research Assistant to support a project focused on stormwater collection and dry-well infiltration. You will work under the supervision of project directors Dr. Ali Sharbat and Dr. Mehrad Kamalzare to assist with various phases of research and testing.
What you'll do#
- Conduct library studies and literature reviews.
- Perform site visits and collect field data.
- Execute water and soil sampling and analysis.
- Assist with experimental design and data analysis.
- Ensure quality control and quality assurance standards are met.
- Attend meetings and help develop project reports.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related major.
- Technical academic research experience.
- Strong writing skills.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter and collaboratively within a team.
- Leadership skills and the ability to interact positively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Internship experience in engineering or water research training is preferred.
