About the role#
Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises is seeking undergraduate students to join the CREST Grant research team. Under the supervision of Dr. Zahra Sotoudeh, you will contribute to the Intelligent Factory goals of the IME Smart Manufacturing Lab. This position is funded by the National Science Foundation and requires a commitment of 20 hours per week during both academic semesters and the summer.
What you'll do#
- Conduct literature reviews to support ongoing research.
- Perform data mining and experimental work at the IME Smart Manufacturing Lab.
- Develop simulations for various robots.
- Build the Digital Factory of IME Smart Manufacturing.
- Carry out experimental verification and coordinate with other subprojects.
- Work both independently and alongside graduate and undergraduate researchers.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a STEM major at Cal Poly Pomona.
- Proficiency in MATLAB and Python programming.
- Completion of undergraduate Vector Dynamics with a willingness to expand your knowledge.
- Interest in applying machine learning techniques to engineering problems.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to work well in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience using technology to enhance student learning is preferred.
