About the role#
The Accounting & Finance Co-Op/Intern role provides an opportunity to work within the Corporate Accounting department of a global mining leader. This position involves rotational assignments and exposure to daily accounting activities, allowing students to learn from professionals while contributing to real-world projects. This is a full-time, paid position based on a hybrid work model.
What you'll do#
- Complete rotational assignments across areas including inventory costing, revenue, reporting, leasing, and financial analysis.
- Perform daily tasks such as data and cost analysis, posting journals, report writing, balance sheet reconciliations, and data management.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly closing responsibilities.
- Participate in department and project-specific meetings.
- Collaborate and communicate with various personnel, including management, plant operators, engineers, and contractors.
What you'll need#
- Junior level or above by May 2027, pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Minimum 2.75 GPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and basic computer skills.
- 1-2 years of experience through work, volunteering, or student organizations.
- Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.
- Ability to work full time (36-40 hours per week) while maintaining student status.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between sites.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 25 lbs, climbing stairs, and working at various heights.
- Successful completion of post-offer background checks, drug screening, and physical examinations is required.
