About the role#
The Hartford offers an 11-week actuarial summer internship program starting in late May 2027. This full-time, paid program provides exposure to various actuarial functions and the broader actuarial community within the company. You will work on projects that contribute to our business operations while developing your technical and professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Complete assignments across actuarial departments, including Property and Casualty businesses and Employee Benefits.
- Contribute to work in insurance pricing, corporate reserving, data science, enterprise risk management, and employee benefits.
- Participate in training sessions covering R coding, insurance terminology, and departmental technologies.
- Engage in team building and social events with the actuarial team.
- Support the actuarial community and sharpen your communication and leadership skills.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, finance, or a related science field.
- Successful completion of at least one actuarial exam.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- A driven and well-rounded approach to your work.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time position based in Hartford, CT.
- Interns must be physically present in Hartford for the duration of the 11-week program.
- Funding is provided to support travel and housing.
