About the role#
This internship focuses on strategies to engage constituents in philanthropy through the full donor cycle. You will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit administration and development by working with the Individual Giving team. The role involves designing strategies to inspire long-term engagement with the Museum across various groups.
What you'll do#
- Support the Manager of Individual Giving with the Staff and Volunteer Campaign, including promotion, planning, communications, and tracking.
- Develop cultivation strategies for foster families and Neighborhood Club members.
- Draft donor communications and gather impact stories.
- Research development best practices and analyze constituent data to identify engagement opportunities.
- Assist the Manager of Donor Relations with donor recognition inventory, including updating records.
- Provide administrative support and work on special projects for the Individual Giving team.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 2 years of college coursework.
- Preferred studies in nonprofit management, philanthropic studies, communications, human services, or related fields.
- Strong writing skills for creating content for different audiences.
- Ability to research, analyze trends, and manage multiple projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a creative approach to problem-solving.
Location & details#
- Location: Indianapolis, Indiana.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Schedule: Part-time, approximately 15 hours per week, with flexibility between Monday and Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- This is a paid, on-site position.
