About the role#
The Marketing Graphic Design Intern supports the creative team by designing and producing a variety of marketing materials. You will work on signs, banners, flyers, brochures, postcards, and social media graphics. A significant portion of this role involves the physical production of medium and large-format signage for use throughout the museum. This is a part-time, paid position for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Develop design concepts that meet project goals for exhibits, events, and museum operations.
- Retouch and manipulate photos and other graphical elements.
- Create materials that follow brand standards.
- Submit materials for approval using in-house job tracking software.
- Manage multiple projects to meet deadlines.
- Maintain organized asset libraries for the creative team.
- Work with the print center to ensure quality for high-volume materials.
- Operate an in-house large-format printer.
- Trim prints to size by hand using a knife and mount printed materials.
- Assist with the installation of work inside the museum.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior standing in a degree program for Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Graphics Art Management, or Digital Media.
- Strong physical production skills, specifically hand-trimming with a knife and mounting large-format prints.
- Intermediate experience with Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. Experience with Photoshop is a plus.
- Ability to work a consistent on-site schedule during normal business hours.
