About the role#
The Teacher Education and Curriculum Development team supports educators by providing professional development and curriculum materials. This internship focuses on coordinating social media and communication efforts for K-12 programs. You will help research, design, and implement social media strategies to reach teachers across the state.
What you'll do#
- Create and post content for Instagram and Facebook.
- Design and write monthly email newsletters for teachers.
- Research social media tools and strategies to provide recommendations for future initiatives.
- Collaborate with staff to grow engagement with the teacher audience.
- Attend meetings with your supervisor and the strategic communications team.
- Manage additional projects as assigned.
- Participate in three professional development seminars and deliver a final presentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student, or graduation within the last 12 months.
- Preferred fields of study include Education, History, Media Studies, Public Relations, or Marketing.
- Junior or senior standing for undergraduates.
- Experience with project planning, research, and video creation.
- Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, and social media technology.
- Strong written communication skills and a creative approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Experience in education or history is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, part-time position located in St Paul, Minnesota.
- The term runs from January 19, 2027, to May 23, 2027.
- You will work 10 hours per week.
- The role offers a mix of on-site and remote work. Preferred in-person hours are Tuesday or Wednesday between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
