About the role#
The Museum Store Digital Commerce Intern helps grow online sales for The Children's Museum of Indianapolis. You will spend your time researching strategies, building a marketing plan, and managing the back-end operations of our Shopify website. This role offers the chance to see a project from the initial planning phase through to final implementation and results analysis.
What you'll do#
- Gather internal and external knowledge to inform our online sales strategy.
- Build a marketing plan that includes 2 to 3 strategies, supporting tactics, and revenue metrics.
- Present your finalized plan to Business Sales and Strategy and Museum Store leadership.
- Learn the back-end operations of our Shopify platform.
- Improve the website layout and product presentation.
- Add 50 new items to the online store.
- Present the final results of your implemented plan to leadership.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one year of college coursework.
- A major or field of study in digital marketing or retail is preferred.
- A working knowledge of website structure.
- Experience or coursework in building a marketing plan.
- An understanding of how to motivate adult shoppers who are buying for children.
- A desire to make a measurable impact.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and leadership.
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to move throughout the Museum Store as needed.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, part-time internship based in Indianapolis, Indiana.
- The role requires approximately 15 hours per week.
- This position is for the Winter 2027 term.
- This is a paid internship.
