    About the role#

    The Lilly Theater Technician Intern supports the production team during the spring season. You will assist with technical tasks ranging from set construction to show operations. This position requires 15 hours of work per week and some evening or weekend availability to match production schedules.

    What you'll do#

    • Build sets using power and pneumatic tools like saws, staple guns, and sanders.
    • Construct and assemble props and costumes.
    • Paint scenery and props.
    • Hang and focus lights.
    • Operate lighting and sound consoles.
    • Maintain the production and manage the house during performances.

    What you'll need#

    • Completion of 0 to 4 years of college coursework, with a focus on theater technology.
    • Experience in a scene, paint, or costume shop.
    • Ability to program lights and run sound, including Qlab.
    • Strong attention to detail and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
    • Previous theater technology experience is preferred.
    • Ability to lift and move set pieces, use power tools, and work at heights.

    • This internship is located in Indianapolis, Indiana.
    • The role is on-site and part-time for the Winter 2027 term.
