    About the role#

    The Security Operations Intern works with the Director of Security Operations to support safety and security at The Children's Museum of Indianapolis. You will gain experience in a public-facing environment by contributing to daily operations, documentation, and event procedures.

    What you'll do#

    • Update Security Department policies and procedures.
    • Review and update Security Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Conduct a fire extinguisher audit and manage equipment relocation.
    • Support the Safety Warden Program.
    • Help manage arrival and departure procedures for school groups.
    • Assist with security operations during museum events.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as a sophomore, junior, or senior in college.
    • Preferred majors include Security, Law Enforcement, or Homeland Security/Public Safety.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Basic computer and software proficiency.
    • Experience working with children is preferred.
    • Ability to walk, stand, and move across the museum campus for long periods.
    • Ability to read and update written documentation and signage.
