About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern works closely with the Store Manager to learn how the retail business functions and to gain experience in management. You will perform a variety of sales, merchandising, and operational tasks while focusing on providing an enjoyable shopping experience for guests. This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude.
- Achieve personal sales-per-hour and total net sales goals set by store management.
- Help guests try on or fit merchandise.
- Place special orders or call other stores to find desired merchandise.
- Maintain high standards for the store, whether or not a manager is present.
- Complete modules from the Buckle Management Manual covering leadership, recruiting, and hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals and tracking results.
- Provide weekly progress reports to area and district managers.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or Psychology.
- No prior experience or training is necessary.
- An interest in a long-term commitment with Buckle.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
