About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern supports the store mission by creating an enjoyable shopping experience for guests. This role works closely with the Store Manager to develop a practical understanding of retail business operations and management. Interns gain hands-on experience in sales, merchandising, and leadership, with a focus on professional development and long-term career growth within the company.
What you'll do#
- Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide personalized service.
- Achieve personal sales-per-hour and average sales goals set by management.
- Complete the Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing, and Hiring sections of the Buckle Management Manual.
- Lead and motivate the team by tracking department metrics and performance data.
- Manage a specific product category, including setting sales goals and educating teammates.
- Assist with operational tasks such as cashiering, processing freight, merchandising, and maintaining store cleanliness.
- Provide weekly progress reports to the Area and District Managers and participate in monthly conference calls.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a relevant field, such as Business Administration or Marketing.
- A strong interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- A consistently positive attitude to help foster a productive team culture.
