About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position focuses on delivering an enjoyable shopping experience for guests while gaining hands-on experience in retail operations. You will work directly with the Store Manager to learn the fundamentals of the retail business and management practices. This is a full-time, on-site internship role.
What you'll do#
- Perform sales, merchandising, and operational tasks including cashiering, merchandise displays, and facility maintenance.
- Complete specific sections of the Buckle Management Manual covering Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates, and tracking performance results.
- Provide weekly progress reports and updates to the Area and District Managers.
- Actively participate in monthly conference calls to discuss business performance and development.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- A strong interest in a long-term commitment with Buckle.
- No prior experience or training is required for this position.
