About the role#
We are looking for a LiDAR Data Analyst Co-op student to join our team in Concord, Ontario. This is a full-time, on-site position. The initial term is 8 months, with the potential to extend to 16 months. You will work alongside engineers, scientists, and software developers to process and analyze LiDAR, imagery, and geospatial datasets.
What you'll do#
- Process and perform quality assessments on LiDAR, imagery, and geospatial datasets.
- Support sensor calibration, validation, and performance evaluation activities.
- Analyze point cloud and image data using internal software tools.
- Generate maps, reports, statistics, and visualizations for project teams.
- Test and evaluate new software features and processing workflows.
- Document procedures and manage project files and calibration records.
- Troubleshoot data processing and sensor performance issues.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program (2nd or 3rd year) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with technical or scientific datasets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with LiDAR, photogrammetry, GIS, or remote sensing is preferred.
- Basic programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or C++ are considered an asset.
