About the role#
The AI Innovation team at Kinaxis builds intelligence into how enterprises operate. We are developing a platform that hosts agents capable of reasoning, decomposing problems, and orchestrating tools to solve them. As an intern, you will join us at the intersection of applied research and product development. You will work on an early-stage codebase where you can influence technical decisions and see your work deployed directly to customers.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the full development lifecycle, from initial design to production code on our agentic AI platform.
- Build new capabilities and tools that enable AI agents to perform tasks.
- Test how agents behave in real-world scenarios to identify what works and what needs improvement.
- Develop product ideas, prototypes, and demos for the team and executives.
- Write technical documentation to support your design choices.
- Demo your work to the team and contribute to technical discussions.
- Work with a mentor who provides guidance and support throughout your term.
What you'll need#
- Completed 3rd year of, or recently graduated from, a program in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest in building and shipping software through coursework, previous work, personal projects, research, or open-source contributions.
- Experience or interest in AI agents and how they are built.
- Proficiency in Python or a comparable language.
- Experience using Git and GitHub.
- Clear written communication skills.
- Comfort with ambiguity and defining approaches where established answers do not yet exist.
Location & details#
- Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with at least three days per week in the office.
- Term: Full-time, 8 or 12-month position starting in January 2027.
- Compensation: Hourly rate between $27.04 and $39.66, based on skills and experience.
