About the role#
As a Software Developer in Test Intern at Dayforce, you will join a software engineering team to contribute to the development of enterprise-scale cloud software. You will work alongside experienced developers, test engineers, product managers, and UX designers to gain hands-on experience across the entire software development lifecycle. You will receive mentorship and support while being encouraged to ask questions and progressively take ownership of your work.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software features and solutions.
- Write clean, readable, maintainable, and well-tested code using modern development practices.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver high-quality product experiences.
- Investigate software defects, contribute to root-cause analysis, and drive issues to resolution.
- Develop and maintain automated tests, including unit and integration testing.
- Work with technologies such as APIs, databases, cloud services, and web applications.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and Agile ceremonies.
- Explore emerging technologies, including AI-powered development tools.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Programming experience from coursework, personal projects, or previous internships.
- Familiarity with one or more languages such as C#, Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- A solid understanding of programming fundamentals, object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
- Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
- Experience with software development basics like debugging, testing, and version control.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within an agile team.

- Term: Winter 2027 (January 2027 to August 2027).
- Modality: Remote.
- Status: Full-time (37.5 to 40 hours weekly).
