About the role#
As a Product Engineer Intern, you will join our team to help build and optimize a data visualization platform used by large enterprise customers. You will work on software that provides real-time insights into complex organizational structures, ensuring high performance and scalability for systems supporting hundreds of thousands of employees. This role involves hands-on software engineering, AI-driven development, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver secure solutions for C-level stakeholders.
What you'll do#
- Collect, analyze, and document business and user requirements.
- Design, develop, and test computer-based systems and applications.
- Build modern cross-platform applications using frameworks like Vue.js and Node.js.
- Develop data, process, and network models to optimize system architecture.
- Implement architectural designs for large-scale data processing and visualization systems.
- Architect and implement multi-level caching systems and graph-based data structures.
- Perform performance tuning for big data and visualization workloads.
- Design and implement features for Enterprise Resource Planning.
- Document system designs, technical specifications, and maintenance procedures.
- Identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities to maintain SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 compliance.
- Collaborate with engineering, data, and product teams while providing code review and technical guidance.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience designing and deploying systems in a production environment.
- Proficiency in software design, architecture, and AI-driven development.
- Experience with modern web development, including Node.js, Python, and Postgres DB.
- Familiarity with component-based UI development and design systems like Tailwind CSS.
- Hands-on experience with data visualization frameworks and techniques for optimizing large datasets.
- Understanding of distributed systems, cloud-based environments, and backend integration.
- Knowledge of graph-based data structures, caching layers, and context-aware prompt engineering.
- Ability to perform software testing, troubleshooting, and debugging in complex systems.

- Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2027 (4 or 8 months).
- Modality: Hybrid (expected in-office 3 days per week).
- Status: Full-time (37.5 to 40 hours per week).
