About the role#
As a member of the Financial Planning & Analysis team, you will prepare recurring internal deliverables and support analysis for governance reporting. This position is a full-time, 8 or 12-month placement starting in January 2027. You will report directly to the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis.
What you'll do#
- Extract and analyze data to prepare and present timely financial information.
- Provide financial recommendations to support business decision-making.
- Assist with quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting by collaborating with stakeholders and consolidating data.
- Analyze key drivers and metrics to support the evolving needs of specific functional groups.
- Prepare monthly management reports that compare actual performance against budget.
- Partner with the HR Business team to communicate objectives and forecast adjustments.
- Take on ad-hoc projects and provide support to other finance teams as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Commerce or Business program with a major in Accounting or Finance.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in accounting, finance, or audit is an asset.
- Familiarity with IFRS accounting principles and financial modeling.
- Strong business acumen.
Location & details#
- This role is available for the Winter 2027 term.
- The position offers both remote and hybrid work options. If you are located in Ottawa or Toronto, you are expected to be in the office at least three days a week.
- This is a paid internship.
