About the role#
Murex is hiring two Trading Domain Functional Interns for our Toronto office. One position focuses on Foreign Exchange, while the other focuses on Fixed Income. You will work at the intersection of financial markets, technology, and business, collaborating with consultants and subject matter experts on real projects for financial institutions. This is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Complete a structured onboarding program covering financial markets, financial products, and the MX.3 platform.
- Develop hands-on knowledge of capital markets workflows.
- Analyze business challenges and translate requirements into practical solutions within the MX.3 platform.
- Support implementation and client support activities, including requirements analysis, solution configuration, and functional testing.
- Validate trading, valuation, and risk management workflows to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
- Investigate client issues and collaborate with project stakeholders to propose solutions.
- Contribute to client-facing initiatives and communicate findings to technical and business audiences.
- Research internal topics related to finance, quantitative analysis, risk management, and technology.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in mathematical finance, financial engineering, quantitative finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Foundational knowledge of financial markets and instruments such as derivatives, swaps, bonds, foreign exchange, or interest rate products.
- Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn new concepts quickly and apply them to practical problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
- A collaborative, team-oriented style paired with a proactive and autonomous mindset.
- Familiarity with Python, SQL, Excel, or other analytical or programming tools is an asset.
- Previous experience with financial data, valuation models, testing, or technical business analysis is an asset.

- Location: Toronto, Ontario.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (minimum three days per week in the office).
- Compensation: CAD $25.45 per hour.
- Term: Rolling.
