About the role#
The TECO Energy Cooperative Education Program offers students practical experience to complement their classroom studies. Interns report to Energy Delivery engineers and support a variety of technical projects. You will work on tasks related to system expansion, government agencies, and private entities. This is a paid, full-time position for Winter 2027.
What you'll do#
- Provide engineering, estimating, programming, and mapping input for various projects.
- Oversee and guide contractors to ensure work meets company standards.
- Design facilities that are safe and economical.
- Prepare and issue design drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
- Coordinate projects within the Electric Delivery Project Management process.
- Evaluate and select materials while monitoring equipment delivery.
- Provide engineering support during field activities like data collection and construction.
- Interpret engineering designs during the construction phase.
- Participate in storm response and recovery activities as a condition of employment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university as an undergraduate or graduate student.
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Sophomore standing or higher is preferred.
- Proof of enrollment in a university co-op program or intern status.
