About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for the Winter 2027 term based in Brandon, Florida. You will support social service functions including the Medical Watch program, the Share Program, and the Senior Care Program. This role involves administrative tasks and direct support for customer assistance initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Process Medical Watch re-certification requests and track all incoming and outgoing requests.
- Monitor and process Promise to Pay requests from social service agencies.
- Manage voice mailboxes for Medical Watch and Customer Assistance.
- Review and document accounts regarding returned mail.
- Answer calls from the Agency Queue.
- Assist Customer Assistance Advisors with special projects.
- Support off-site outreach activities as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university as an undergraduate or graduate student.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Administration and Policy, Business Administration, or Finance.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to practice active listening and express empathy.
- Availability to respond to storms as a condition of employment.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening, physical exam, and background check covering employment, criminal, and motor vehicle records.
