About the role#
This internship provides practical experience within the Drone & Diagnostics Center. You will work with the Data Science team to support utility asset inspections and contribute to technical projects. This is a paid, full-time position for Winter 2027.
What you'll do#
- Build and improve machine learning models.
- Develop dashboards, data visualizations, and analytical tools for business stakeholders.
- Label and organize drone imagery and other data sets for model training.
- Review and implement AI into existing workflows.
- Automate data processing tasks.
- Create predictive analytics for internal teams.
- Participate in storm response and emergency recovery activities as a condition of employment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university as an undergraduate or graduate student.
- Pursuit of a degree in Data Science or Data Analytics.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Sophomore standing or higher is preferred.
- Enrollment in a university co-op program is preferred.
