About the role#
This internship program offers a 10-week experience within the Commercial Banking division. You will function as a Credit Management Intern, supporting the lending and credit teams. The role involves performing financial analysis for moderately complex loans and industries under the guidance of lead staff. This position is based in Mount Laurel, New Jersey, and requires an in-office presence four days a week.
What you'll do#
- Conduct in-depth industry and financial analysis of existing and potential borrowers.
- Perform underwriting analysis of a borrower's character, creditworthiness, and financial condition.
- Prepare insightful and timely approval memorandums for presentation to lending and credit authorities.
- Analyze financial statements, management profiles, business and product cycles, and cash flow ability.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and identify deviations from the company commercial loan policy.
- Research industry-specific information through publications, credit agencies, and direct inquiries.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a post-secondary degree in a business-related discipline, such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Proficiency with Microsoft tools including Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Must be work authorized in the United States on a permanent basis without the need for employer sponsorship.
