About the role#
The Financial Accounting & Markets (FAM) team at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago is looking for a Summer Intern. This team manages strategic and operational transformation initiatives and optimizes the finance systems that support business processes. You will work with team members to improve operational efficiency, strengthen reporting, and refine the user experience of internal technologies. This role provides exposure to finance transformation, business process improvement, enterprise systems administration, and data analytics.
What you'll do#
- Learn about Finance Transformation best practices and how FAM processes are operationalized.
- Study FAM systems to understand how they support core business processes.
- Enhance reporting for FAM transformation initiatives using data analytics.
- Develop training opportunities and learning tracks for FAM processes and technology.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior standing at an accredited college or university.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, accounting, finance, information systems, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Interest in finance, technology, business transformation, or process improvement.
- Experience with data analysis, reporting, or dashboard tools is preferred.
- Familiarity with enterprise systems such as ERP, financial management, or human capital management platforms is a plus.
- Coursework in project management, business analytics, information systems, or organizational change management is helpful.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is preferred.
