About the role#
This internship places you within the Portfolio Management Office at Talcott Financial Group. You will support the governance of our enterprise project portfolio and assist in the planning and execution of key business initiatives. This is a ten-week program where you will work alongside our teams to gain experience with project management processes and tools.
What you'll do#
- Maintain and update the project portfolio dashboard.
- Collect and synthesize project data from various business units.
- Create executive summaries and visual reports for senior leadership.
- Attend project review meetings and document outcomes.
- Work with project managers to collect status updates and risk assessments.
- Prepare materials for roadmap planning and portfolio health reviews.
- Help the Portfolio Management team improve tools, processes, and feedback mechanisms.
- Organize team events, training sessions, and guest speaker appearances.
What you'll need#
- You are a rising junior, senior, or graduate student in business administration, finance, marketing, or computer science.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies like Agile or Waterfall.
- Experience using reporting tools such as ADO, Power BI, or Smartsheet.
- Ability to work independently and manage conflicting priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and a professional attitude.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based in Hartford, Connecticut.
- We follow a hybrid work schedule, with onsite attendance required on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
