About the role#
Talcott Financial Group is hiring a Software Engineering Intern for our Summer 2027 program. You will join our Information Technology department to work on real business challenges alongside our engineering team. This is a full-time, paid internship based in our Hartford office.
What you'll do#
- Analyze data and business requirements to create technical specifications.
- Design and develop software programs that align with our business application portfolio.
- Collaborate with software engineers, project managers, and business users to complete projects.
- Suggest improvements for existing processes.
- Partner with team members to apply best practices and improve our technology.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Technical proficiency and a desire to learn tools like Python, SQL, React, MS Fabric, or Power BI.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A professional, positive attitude and a solid work ethic.
- Ability to work well both independently and within a team.
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously.
- A drive for continuous learning and process improvement.
- Previous internship experience is a plus but not required.

- Location: Hartford, Connecticut.
- Modality: Hybrid, with onsite work required Tuesday through Thursday.
- Term: Summer 2027.
