About the role#
Central offers internships that focus on contributing to technology products while building engineering skills and professional judgment. You will work as part of a software engineering product team to solve business and customer problems. This role provides exposure to how technology supports our business operations through meaningful work and regular feedback from experienced teammates.
What you'll do#
- Write code using applicable programming languages.
- Use standard development, source control, testing, and delivery tools.
- Implement functionality based on existing patterns.
- Participate in pairing sessions and code reviews.
- Apply coaching and feedback from experienced engineers.
- Build an understanding of the product, the business problem it solves, and the team value chain.
- Use AI-assisted development tools under team guidance.
- Learn how delivered software behaves after release.
- Consider reliability, security, accessibility, maintainability, and data protection in your engineering decisions.
- Complete a summer-long project and present your work to executive leaders.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Motivation to accomplish significant goals with integrity.
- Curiosity and a willingness to seek context and ask thoughtful questions.
- Interest in analyzing information, offering ideas, and trying new tools.
- Commitment to learning the craft and producing careful work.
- Ability to engage in open communication and act on feedback.

- Location: Van Wert, Ohio.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May to August).
- Modality: This is a full-time, on-site position.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
