About the role#
EMC Insurance Companies is hiring a Software Engineering Intern. This is a full-time, paid internship that operates on a rolling basis. You will work remotely from any location within the United States.
What you'll do#
- Learn our development practices, tools, and technical standards.
- Help develop and maintain assigned software applications.
- Test code, troubleshoot issues, and resolve defects.
- Review and update technical documentation for applications.
- Join team meetings, participate in code reviews, and share knowledge with your peers.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- We prefer candidates with junior standing and a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
- You have a basic grasp of programming concepts.
- You can show an interest in software development through your projects, coursework, or extracurricular activities.
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- You communicate clearly in both verbal and written forms.
- You are organized, detail-oriented, and work well in a team setting.
- You have the ability to pick up new technologies and concepts quickly.
Location & details#
This position is fully remote. The pay range for this role is $19.50 to $23.00 per hour, depending on your location, education, and experience.
