About the role#
This is a paid internship within the Digital Workplace Experience team at EMC. You will learn about the company culture, structure, and how different branches function. This role is based on-site at our corporate office in Des Moines.
What you'll do#
- Image, install, and maintain PCs, laptops, and other hardware.
- Manage equipment assets by checking in new hardware and decommissioning end-of-life items.
- Coordinate the shipping and receiving of equipment for team members.
- Collaborate with the team to support day-to-day systems including Jira ticketing, M365, Tanium, and Windows or Mac OS.
- Help manage endpoint technologies such as patching, security, software deployment, and backups.
- Assist with automation and process improvement through scripting, reporting, and documentation.
- Troubleshoot and solve common endpoint issues.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a technical field of study, such as Management Information Systems or Computer Science.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
- Completion of your sophomore year is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and sound decision-making abilities.
- An interest in technology automation and process improvement.
- Familiarity with scripting or programming concepts like PowerShell or Python is preferred.
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career in Information Technology.
