About the role#
Sundt Construction is hiring an Intern Engineer for our California Building Group. This role offers students the chance to work on construction projects and participate in the daily operations required to build them. You will gain exposure to project management and field work while working alongside our team.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project record keeping, cost control, and submittal processing.
- Prepare shop drawings, quantity take-offs, and reports.
- Support surveying, testing, sample collection, and drawing filing.
- Monitor subcontractors, check schedules, and manage inventory.
- Attend bid openings and conferences to take notes and complete forms.
- Conduct site tours and report on meeting results.
- Perform tasks as a manual laborer, clerk, or technician assistant.
- Call vendors and subcontractors for proposals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year Construction Management or Engineering program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- A team-oriented mindset and a willingness to handle various tasks.
- Curiosity and a desire to learn about a career in construction.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including a hardhat, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes.
- Ability to stand, walk, or perform physical tasks for the duration of a shift.
