About the role#
This is a full-time student position for the Winter 2027 term (January to April 2027). You will support Disability Case Managers in the management of disability claims and help plan members return to work. This role is open to students with a graduation date of April 2027 or later.
What you'll do#
- Support Disability Case Managers in managing disability claims to resolution.
- Conduct telephone interviews to gather information and ensure a clear understanding of the support required for return-to-work planning.
- Communicate with clients through verbal and written channels to understand the medical, social, and personal factors of their absence.
- Identify and assess medical and non-medical factors, including functional capabilities, restrictions, and limitations.
- Collaborate on the development and maintenance of outcome-focused case management plans.
- Determine eligibility for disability benefits and implement interventions to support recovery.
What you'll need#
- Bilingualism in French and English, both oral and written.
- Graduation date of April 2027 or later.
- A strong interest in health care and the impact of various diagnoses.
- Analytical and detail-oriented mindset with the ability to ask the right questions.
- Proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving.
- Strong communication skills paired with empathy for the client.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and resourcefulness in finding answers.
- Resilience when handling stressful situations and the ability to view challenges as learning opportunities.
