About the role#
The Education Intern works within the Learning and Engagement department to gain hands-on experience in museum education. You will explore how arts and cultural programming impacts society while working alongside museum staff. This role focuses on supporting learning, connection, and leadership across communities through the development of educational resources and programs.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, preparation, and delivery of school, family, and teen programs, including Lil Studio, Studio Sundays, and Teen Studio.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of educational programs and resources.
- Support Studio Museum educators during group visits and assist with general departmental tasks.
- Conduct research based on your personal interests to support departmental priorities.
- Help strengthen accessible tools and methods that address community needs.
- Participate in team meetings and support hands-on community programming at events throughout Harlem.
What you'll need#
- You are a current college undergraduate, graduate student, or a recent graduate.
- You are preparing for a career in Arts Education, Museum Education, Arts Administration, Fine Arts, Art History, or a related field.
- You have a genuine interest in working with families and youth.
- You possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- You must be authorized to work in the United States.
Location & details#
- This is a paid position with a stipend of $5,040.
- The term runs from January 11, 2027, to April 16, 2027.
- This role requires 20 hours per week during the workweek.
- The position is hybrid, requiring in-person work three days per week, with Tuesdays being mandatory.
