About the role#
ECHO is hiring a STEM Education Intern for the spring semester. You will join the Public Programs Team to help deliver hands-on education for visitors of all ages. This role is based on-site at the museum and focuses on helping guests explore the Engineering Design Process. The internship runs from January 2027 through May 2027 at 18 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate interactive education experiences for museum visitors.
- Teach guests about STEM concepts and the Engineering Design Process.
- Prepare and reset exhibit spaces daily.
- Clean high contact surfaces and areas during operating hours.
- Provide customer service to museum guests.
- Assist full time staff in preparing materials and activities for public events.
What you'll need#
- An interest in informal STEM education.
- A degree or current enrollment in a Science or Education program.
- A desire to work with a diverse range of guests in a museum setting.
- Effective communication skills.
- The ability to work in a changing environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- The ability to work well as part of a team.
Location & details#
- Location: Burlington, Vermont.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January through May).
- Commitment: 18 hours per week, including at least 4 hours on either Saturday or Sunday.
- Compensation: $16 per hour.
