About the role#
The Ithaca College Wellness Clinic hires students to lead group exercise sessions for the campus community, including faculty, staff, and students. This role offers an opportunity to gain clinical training experience while supporting the fitness needs of the college. We are looking for instructors for formats such as Pilates, Yoga, Zumba, cycling, HIIT, and weight training.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and lead group exercise sessions that are safe and effective.
- Teach scheduled classes on time.
- Provide warm-ups, workouts, stretching, and cool-downs.
- Offer exercise modifications to participants.
- Monitor participant intensity levels.
- Record attendance for each session.
- Enforce Wellness Clinic policies and procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Ithaca College.
- A degree in Exercise Science or a related field, or current status as an HSHP student at the sophomore level or higher.
- A nationally recognized certification in personal training or group exercise, or a specific certification in your class format.
- Ability to work during weekday operational hours between 6 am and 7 pm.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and attention to detail.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to client confidentiality.
- Ability to maintain professionalism with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Upon hiring, you must complete certifications for Adult CPR/AED, HIPAA, Blood Borne Pathogens, and Harassment Prevention.

- Location: Ithaca, New York.
- Terms: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $16.15 - $16.45 per hour.
