About the role#
Ithaca College is hiring a Dining Services Student Cook to work at the Terrace Dining Hall. This role provides on-the-job training and free meals while you gain professional experience. You will work on-site, and the position is open to students across various majors including Business Administration, Nutrition, Kinesiology, Agriculture, Civil Engineering, Health Administration, and Criminal Justice.
What you'll do#
- Provide customer service to ensure positive guest experiences.
- Help manage other students and run shifts.
- Train new student workers.
- Set up and break down service lines, including managing utensils, condiments, and food storage.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation.
- Take and record food temperatures at required intervals.
- Replenish food items on service lines from ovens and coolers.
- Communicate with co-workers and management.
- Assist guests with inquiries regarding menu items and ingredients.
