Dining Services Student Cook

About the role#

The Dining Services Student Cook position offers an opportunity to gain professional experience within a campus dining environment. This role involves active collaboration with team members and provides on-the-job training. Employees are expected to maintain a professional appearance and perform duties that require standing and walking for the duration of the shift.

What you'll do#

• Provide exceptional customer service to ensure positive guest experiences.
• Assist in managing other students and running shifts.
• Train new student workers on kitchen operations.
• Set up and break down service lines, including managing menu items, utensils, and condiments.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation according to standard operating procedures.
• Take and record food temperatures at required intervals.
• Replenish service lines from coolers, ovens, and hot boxes.
• Maintain knowledge of food items, ingredients, preparations, and allergens to assist guests.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers and management.
