About the role#
The Production Associate supports the daily operations of The Cherry Arts in Ithaca. This role is for students who want to learn how a multidisciplinary arts venue functions. You will gain experience in theatre, visual arts, and community-based programming. This position is open only to students who qualify for Federal Work Study.
What you'll do#
- Assist with technical and production needs, including set building and manual labor like lifting.
- Help manage the gallery and box office, which includes staffing during some evening and weekend hours.
- Support marketing efforts by creating social media posts and distributing printed materials.
- Maintain the facilities by painting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and handling trash removal.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as managing the ticketing and membership database.
- Support community outreach events like the Open Art Hive and Arthaus activities.
- Provide production help during rehearsals and run local errands.
What you'll need#
- You must qualify for Federal Work Study.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- A flexible and organized approach to tasks.
- Interest in working in theatre, performing arts, visual arts, or arts for social change.
Location & details#
- Location: Ithaca, New York.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: At least two shifts per week, with each shift lasting 3 to 4 hours. You must be available for at least one shift during normal business hours, plus some weekend and evening work.
