About the role#
The Public Programs Intern joins the Learning & Engagement Department to support the Public Programs team. This team creates art-inspired experiences ranging from artist talks and workshops to screenings and performances. You will work with museum staff to help bring the mission of the Studio Museum in Harlem to life. This role offers a view into how different museum departments collaborate to produce public programming.
What you'll do#
- Support the Public Programs team with seasonal programming.
- Conduct independent research to help develop new programs and partnerships.
- Coordinate program operations.
- Gain hands-on experience in arts administration.
- Interface with a variety of stakeholders across the museum.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student, or status as a recent graduate.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in research and writing.
- Ability to multitask and work independently.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, New York.
- Term: Spring 2027 (January 11, 2027 to April 16, 2027).
- Modality: Hybrid. You must work in-person three days per week, with Tuesdays being mandatory.
- Commitment: 20 hours per week during the workweek.
- Compensation: $5,040 stipend.
