About the role#
Interns in the Business Valuation group assist with engagements for mergers and acquisitions, tax matters, estate planning, litigation, and fairness opinions. You will work directly with Stout professionals to gain client exposure and build technical skills. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Research industries, markets, and specific companies to support valuation assumptions.
- Analyze financial statements to identify trends, risks, and value drivers.
- Prepare due diligence questions and review supporting documentation.
- Develop financial models, including Discounted Cash Flow and Guideline Public Company analyses.
- Participate in client and management meetings to discuss valuation methodologies.
- Create presentations, analysis packets, and written reports for senior professionals and clients.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0, with 3.5 or higher preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and explain findings clearly.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Previous internship or extracurricular experience is preferred.
