About the role#
Assured Guaranty is looking for a Summer 2027 intern to join the Structured Finance group in New York. You will work alongside junior and senior professionals to support the origination and underwriting of structured finance transactions. This role offers an opportunity to gain experience in credit enhancement, asset-backed securities, and structured municipal financings.
What you'll do#
- Assist with deal screening, credit memos, and internal presentations.
- Conduct market research and industry reviews across various asset classes.
- Review transaction legal documents and summarize findings for the team.
- Participate in internal meetings with senior management and external meetings with clients.
- Coordinate tasks across different departments as needed.
- Develop skills in analyzing and projecting asset and liability cash flows.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, statistics, accounting, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- A self-driven approach and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- High attention to detail and a collaborative mindset.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, NY.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 8 to July 30).
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $30 to $32 per hour.
- Perks: Weekly catered breakfast and lunch on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, plus intern-specific events. A housing stipend may be available for those residing outside of the tri-state area.
